I think 있지 — or the 지 is there for reiteration. Like
“You went, right?” = 갔지?
“You have an album, right?” = 앨범 있지?
“You understand, don’t you?” = 알았지?
It’s the same as making your sentence a tag question. You’re sure about the answer you’re getting from the person.
지 - it’s used only if you’re asking or reiterating (informally). You can’t use it in a normal sentence ^^
