빠른년생 EARLY BIRTH YEAR

*NOTE: This concept should be used as something casual. This shouldn’t be done in the work place or during formal situations. But among friends, you may take note of the early birth year. This is just for those wondering why people don’t use “oppa/unni/hyung/noona” to certain people or friends who are older. Wonder no more!~

I’m back!

I’ve neglected this blog for too long. It’s time to start again. I may not be doing this everyday but I don’t want to let everyone down. Let’s learn Korean! 한국어를 배우자!

What words/phrases can be connected to 있지? If that make sense

I think 있지 — or the 지 is there for reiteration. Like

“You went, right?” = 갔지?

“You have an album, right?” = 앨범 있지?

“You understand, don’t you?” = 알았지?

It’s the same as making your sentence a tag question. You’re sure about the answer you’re getting from the person.

지 - it’s used only if you’re asking or reiterating (informally). You can’t use it in a normal sentence ^^

Hello i was just wondering what is the difference between 이거 뭐야? and 이거 뭐지? is it a politeness thing, like is one more formal than the other?

They’re both informal. There’s no difference, I think.

저는 is used if you’re the topic of the sentence. 는/은 marks the topic of the sentence

내가 is used if you’re not the topic but then you’re the subject being described by the action. 이/가 marks the subject of the sentence.

EXAMPLE:

오늘은 내가 영화를 보고 싶어요.

The topic is 오늘 “today”, I’m letting the listener know that I’m talking about today and our conversation will be things about today.

The doer of the action is 내가 “I”, I’m letting the listener know that I’m the doer of the action 영화를 보고 싶어요 “want to watch movie”.
